about

Imaginary Soundscapes part 1 is the result of cherry picking my favourite pieces from what can only be described as a massive portfolio of work. Sometimes it is a struggle to keep track of my productions and a large part of the work involved in collating this collection was sifting through my creations (or sound memories as I like to call them). The narrative is a potted history of my musical evolution, although for the sake of creating the listening experience I wanted the tracks are not presented in the same timeline that they where created.
I like to take the ordinary (although when it comes to my perspective, concerning sound, there is no ordinary!) and use my production techniques to warp my ingredients to create something truly original that takes your mind on a trip that (hopefully) it has never been on before.
By increasing the space between my recorded sounds I’m attempting to slow down time itself for the listener.
By collecting recordings from my environment I’m attempting, in my own small way, to preserve and collate the modern soundscape for future reference.
By using old technology I’m attempting to recycle it whilst utilising its unique sonic properties to merge dimensions (past, present and future or inside and outside of the box or analogue and digital etc.)
